Once again, I was at Sawgrass again this weekend.. I love it! That is my new home on Sunday mornings. But, in the prayer meeting Pastor Matt started talking about how we go to God with things we need help with and how to direct us, and thats great and all. But we don't go to praise Him as often as we should. And so instead of prayer requests this weekend, we took praises. And it made me so happy! Hearing about everything that the Lord has blessed all the volunteers really opened my eyes to see how much He can really do. Especially with my uncle, if you don't already know, my uncle Rick, who is a huge leader in my life, has IPF (idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis) and there is no definite cure or cause for it. When i found out about it, i was completely devastated and I didn't understand why it had to happen to him. He's a very strong believer and i just didn't get it. But i did a report on it for my bio class last year and it made me realize that God has changed people's lives, including mine with giving this disease to my uncle. I am now greatful for everything I have, and i appreciate it just about 2843235x more than i ever would have. But a few weeks ago, I found out that my uncle has been accepted for a lung transplant, granted they can find the perfect lungs for him, and that is a true praise that i give to the Lord every night, I am sooooo extremely greatful that he has done this, he's given hope to so many people and brought so many people to Christ.
But while I'm on the subject, I would also like to praise God for giving Flamingo Road Church everything he has. We now not only have an amaaaazing youth pastor, that we've been looking for for quite a while, but there have been more teens at the youth service lately than before! Pastor Scot, his team of interns, Holly F and M, and all the other youth pastors at the other campuses are making a huge difference in the youth of south Florida, and i can see that every time I walk into theRUSH at any campus. I'm so glad to finally see what we need, and i absolutely couldn't be more happy to be involved.
So pretty much, if you don't know Scott K, you need to go meet him.. Right now. He's a leader in the youth at Sawgrass, and i don't really know how i met him. But he's fantastic! I've been talking to him about things lately and he never fails to help me. God has really spoken to me through him, and I've learned alot. Everyone's talking about inspirations, and these people above are definitely my inspirations, along with everyone else at Flamingo.
Moral of the blog: Next time you pray, don't just ask God for guidance with things you need, praise to him all the wonderful things he can do! Yes, i'm young but i know for a fact that this is true.
Peeeeeeeeace out!
